creating my own Byron burger

*Byron Cookbook: Get your copy here

I know that a lot of you out there reading this can appreciate a great burger, for me Byron Burgers is my favourite place to go when I'm craving a juicy cheeseburger. I was so happy when I heard their cookbook was being released and wanted to have a go myself. Now let me tell you how you can make your own!

Makes 4 burgers

You will need:

4 x 180g hamburgers
4 buns, halved
100g mayo
4 leaves of lettuce
1/2 beef tomato
1 small red onion peeled and cut into 2mm thick rings
4 slices of cheese

Steps:

Now before we begin, I just want to point out that I didn't have an electric or hand mincer so I had to buy mince to then form into patties. So for the purpose of this recipe I'll tell you how I made them without.

Preparing Burgers:

001: Divide the mince into 180g portions and roll into a ball.

002: Then press down and try to aim for 12cm wide and 1.5cm thick.

003: Store in the fridge for at least an hour before cooking. (separate by squares of greaseproof paper and wrap)

Lets get started:

001: Preheat grill to high

002: Cook the hamburgers to your liking.

003: Meanwhile, toast or grill the cut sides of the buns. (For these I'd recommend an 'enriched' dough with butter and egg in the recipe).

004: Spread the mayo evenly over the top halves of the buns.

005: Place one lettuce leaf on top of the mayo, then add slice of tomato.

006: Once the hamburgers are cooked, transfer them to a small oven tray lined with foil. Top each hamburger with a slice of cheese. Place under the hot grill, watch carefully and remove the tray from under the grill as soon as the cheese has melted (this process only takes literally 15 seconds so keep your eyes peeled!).

007: Place hamburgers onto the bottom halves of the buns and bring the two halves together.

So ok mine don't look as tasty as the ones photographed in the book (come on, when do they ever) but trust me these were so scrumptious! Serve them with fries or whatever you fancy and maybe top it off with a milkshake; you can get the recipe for those too in the cookbook ;) Along with desserts and drinks.

If you're a huge burger fan like me, seriously you should try out some of these recipes. Please do let me know if you try making your own :)

New York night in with bodyform #pinkticket competition

How would you like to win a trip to New York? Lets be honest, who wouldn't. Well if you are lucky enough to find a pink ticket inside your pack you and a friend could be jetting off to the big apple for three nights in a 3* hotel with flights, accommodation, transfers and breakfast all paid for.

Now if that wasn't good enough you'll also get a two day bus sightseeing tour pass and a choice of tickets for The Empire State Building Observatory or Top of the Rock. After you've done all that, you can then get tickets for either the Statue of Liberty or a 1 hour boat cruise... how cool?!

To celebrate the launch of this competition Bodyform kindly sent me a kit so I could have my own 'New York Night In' with my friends which I thoroughly enjoyed. Inside the kit there was: a DVD, american candy, selfie stick, a chocolate pizza omg, a huge Statue of Liberty cardboard cut out and much more.

Even if you don't find a pink ticket, every time you buy a promotional pack you will get a £10 off Golden Moments experience voucher, you have until the 30th of June to win so get buying!

Have you ever been to New York?

my skincare routine: kiehl's

I’ve never been able to stick to a skincare routine, I get bored too easily and expect results overnight. However on my 22nd birthday this all changed, I visited the Kiehl’s store in Bluewater and had a consultation with Sarah (this lady is an angel, I cannot reccommend her enough if you ever visit this store). She tested my skin to see how hydrated I was, to my surprise my skin was extremely dehydrated so that was the first issue that needed sorting. I then told Sarah I wanted something to help combat my blemishes and didn’t want just one product, I wanted a new routine with products that would compliment each other without irritating my skin (in the past I’ve tried many brands which have made my skin worse).

Sarah suggested the items photographed above and gave me some testers to see how I got on, well I can tell you after just one week my skin was 10x better than it’s ever been before. Kiehl’s give you a 28 day guarantee, if you don’t like it you can get your money back that's how confident they are! I’ve now been using all these for just over one month and my skin has never been happier.

The samples I got have run out so I will be re purchasing the full sizes straight away as they work so well together. Now let’s discuss how I use these wonderful products!

001: Wet your face with warm water, apply one pump of the calendula deep cleansing foaming wash and then rinse off.

002: Pat your face dry then apply a small amount of the calendula herbal extract toner (alcohol free) to a cotton pad then apply to the affected areas.

003: Apply a pea sized amount of the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing serum to your whole face. (I don’t have a photo of this as I ran out but it’s seriously amazing, it instantly hydrates your skin!) Sarah tested my cheeks which were around 33%, then applied this serum and straight away I was over 50% hydrated which is a fantastic result! Note:At night you do not need to apply this but can if you wish.

004: Now apply again a pea sized amount of ultra facial oil free gel cream all over, this makes your skin super soft and fresh.

Note: At night you do not need to apply this but can if you wish.

005: This is my favourite product of them all, the midnight recovery concentrate. This miracle oil lets you wake up feeling fresh as a daisy (or your skin at least aha ). Apply three drops and apply to face patting it in, do not rub!

Note: Do not use as part of your day time routine, it’s best left for bed time.

I am so happy with my new skincare routine, I'm hoping you guys will try out these products, or have you already? Do let me know in the comments!

Luxemme Two Piece

Limited Edition Two Piece - C/O Luxemme // Heels (now only £17!) - Public Desire // Earrings - Topshop // Hat - New Look

If you haven't heard of the brand Luxemme yet you're missing out. But fear not as I will introduce you to them, these guys are a brand new fashion brand that combines Parisian chic with Manchester cool; they offer affordable fashion made with the highest quality materials to produce premium pieces.

I don't own many two pieces so I chose to style this outfit as a change, I love how feminine it is with the white lace detailing and how sophisticated it looks on me. Also with it being a two piece this means I can get so much wear out of these as separates which is great because I already have an outfit in mind including this skirt ;) If you're worried about sizing (we all know shops have different measurements) I can tell you Luxemme is true to size!

But... Luxemme don't just do two pieces. They have some gorgeous bits, here's some more of my favourites:

I can't wait to see what other items this brand comes out with, will you be ordering?
